This critical, narrative review covers six Whole Medical Systems, thereof three older (Traditional Chinese Medicine, Ayurveda, Unani) and three comparatively younger (Homeopathy, Naturopathy, and Anthroposophic Medicine). Main features of each system (e.g. classical texts, key concepts, therapy modalities) are described and compared.
